Privacy Policy Statement

Arizona’s Public Safety Personnel Retirement System is a state agency subject to State policies on privacy, security and website accessibility as specified by the Department of Administration.  The State’s privacy policy and related policies can be viewed at http://az.gov/policies.  This privacy statement describes what information is obtained online, how PSPRS uses that information, and what steps are being taken to ensure the security of customer data.  Your rights to privacy are of utmost importance to the State of Arizona in building trust and confidence when conducting business through the Internet.  This policy may be updated or revised from time to time.

In the State of Arizona, laws exist to ensure that government is open and transparent, and that the public has a right to access appropriate records and information possessed by State government.  At the same time, however, there are exceptions to the public’s right to access records when the privacy of individuals might be compromised.  Personal information collected by PSPRS will be used only for the purpose for which it is collected.  Except as authorized by law, such information will not be disclosed to other persons or organizations.  Personal information includes, but is not limited to, Social Security number, bank account information and medical information.

Commitment to Security

PSPRS has taken several steps to safeguard the integrity of its communication and computing infrastructure, including but not limited to authentication, monitoring, auditing and encryption.  When a member submits sensitive information through this website, that information is protected both online and off-line.  PSPRS only asks for personal information on secure web pages.  The web page address in the address bar at the top of your browser window will begin with “https” (as opposed to “http”) when you are on a secure web page.  Sensitive information that you enter is encrypted, and is treated in the same manner as the information collected from hard copies submitted to PSPRS.
